The APO Arts Academy, a performing arts institution based in Melbourne, provides industry-focused training & vocational courses in the areas of Musical Theatre, Acting and Dance, including Classical Ballet
APO TEAMS UP WITH SWINBURNE UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (SUT)
As of 2012, parts of our full-time courses come under the auspices of SUT. Students eligible to undertake our courses under this arrangement will also be enrolled in SUT’s accredited and Austudy approved courses.
All courses are structured to provide solid technical foundations with a strong practical focus, supported by allied studies and theoretical units. A combination of studio classes, lectures, tutorials and performances, equip students with the necessary skills to forge diverse careers in the Performing Arts. On completion of their training, students will have the option of entering the professional industry or pursuing further artistic studies at higher levels. In either case, the APO Arts Academy provides the training, facilities, staff and resources to assist students in realising their own potential.

MUSICAL THEATRE
- For advanced students: Advanced Associate in Musical Theatre
2 years full-time - For intermediate students: Associate in Musical Theatre
1 year part-time
DANCE
- For advanced students: Advanced Associate in Fine Arts
(Dance Performance) 2 years full-time - For intermediate students: Associate in Applied Dance
(Techniques & Performance) 2 years full-time - For beginners students: Foundation in Applied Dance
(Techniques & Performance) 1 year full-time
Admission into all courses is based on audition and interview. Information outlining the audition procedures and requirements can be found on the AUDITIONS page of this website.
JUNIOR SCHOOL
As part of our own going education program, APO also offers casual classes and part-time programs, to children and teens, incorporating a range of classes and performing arts disciplines, including dance, vocals and drama for students of all levels.
